Easy read, well researched, recommended alternate history of the early days of Texas.
Alternate Texan history keeps getting better. Bonus short story. Recommend series especially to history lovers. 1840a setting. When 1860s doubt part of South.
Having grown up in Texas, I have loved how this series brings history into this work of fiction. I cannot recommend this series enough. And I am so looking forward to book 4.
Very good but very short!
I read this book in one day, but felt cut off. Want more! I am curious why is the main character not pushing for mote higher tech? Seems he dragging on it.
I completely enjoyed this book and the entire series to date. If you are a fan of alt history, I highly recommend the series. The premise is interesting, the characters are full bodied, and the pace of the book is quite good. I check regularly to see if the next in the series has been published.
I have really enjoyed this series and can't wait for book 4 to come out. I have been reading Alt history since the 8th grade (1963), the famous Look magazine articles of that year. I have read hundreds of Alt history books and novels over the last 55 plus years and this series can stand up to any of them. The only other time that I remember an Alt history interprertation of an independent Texas was on an old Sliders episode.
